First of all I want to thank you and your family for the splendid holiday. The personalised atmosphere gave us the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the environment, the good food, the lovely wines and not to forget the sparkling company. Thanks to your intervention, we got help from Mr. Ruggiero who fiksed our car rapidely. At first we thoughed, we missed our plane, but lukely there was a stroke at All Italia. They had to chance our tickets and we have got a directely flight to Brussels. Best regards, Nadine

Just a note to thank you for the wonderful time we had at your hotel last week. The room was clean and comfortable and the view from our terrace was magnificent. And your food was the best we enjoyed in Italy. But what made our trip really special was the warmth and friendliness we got from you, your brother and your father. It made our first trip to Italy something really special and you can be certain we'll be back for a longer stay on our next trip. Plus, I'm already telling all my friends about what a great hotel you have and I'm encouraging them to stay with you when they visit Italy. Again, thank you and your family for making our trip such a memorable experience. Doug Persico

The welcoming and friendly atmosphere at the family-run La Certosa made our honeymoon here a period of beautiful calm. The staff were both entertaining and accomodating; serving a quality of traditional food above that of the surrounding establishments (despite some of them enjoying a more high-profile status). The isolated location, which may not suit some, is a haven for walkers and water lovers. There are many attractive hillside paths to explore the dramatic coastline of the area, and this can even more easily be viewed from the sea on one of the many charter boats. The hotel is happy to provide information and assistance in arranging activities in the area, but the small shingle beach in front of the hotel, and under their umbrellas, is perhaps the best place to view the activities of others as the evening rush of boats to the quay is slowly swallowed by the shadows of the hills. This is a place to relax. We had a fantastic time and it was in a large part down to the welcome we received at La Certosa. Arrivederci a presto, Laura & Barney Cambridge, UK.

The hotel is a little shabby from the outside - it was formerly a monestary and is very old - but don't let that deter you. Inside, the restaurant has a large verandah which is probably not more than 2 metres from the beach. Our room was clean and comfortable with en suite facilities of a high standard. There was a small balcony which looked out directly onto the bay. The pier (right outside the hotel) is quite busy during the day and early evening, with the comings and goings of small boats. Boat trips to Capri, Amalfi and Positano set off from right outside the hotel door. We didn't have a car so relied on the bus service to visit Sorrento. This was no trouble - there is a timetable displayed on the village shop wall. The bus did take 45 -55 minutes to Sorrento, but that is only 15 minutes longer than driving and by using the bus you get to admire the fantastic coastal scenery better. We also did the Amalfi Drive by bus, which I would strongly recommend, as driving along that road must be terrifying. We did one of the local walks, which was not at all strenouous and was a welcome relief from the crowds of Capri and Sorrento. The family who own the hotel made us vey welcome. They speak English well. The menu was extensive and quite reasonably priced. We couldn't fault anything we had to eat and we stayed almost a week. If you are looking for real Italian food; terrific scenery; a little peace and quiet, but with decent access to the main tourist sites of the area, then this is the hotel for you. comments from tripadvisor.com
